Lionel 6-11724 is the 1992 Great Northern F3 A-B-A diesel set, consisting of one powered A unit, one unpowered A unit, and one unpowered B unit in Great Northern colors.
The powered A unit uses two PullMor motors with eight-wheel drive, Magne-Traction, and transformer-controlled forward-neutral-reverse operation. Both A units feature working headlights and illuminated number boards, along with metal chassis and ladders, portholes, screened vents, front operating knuckle couplers, metal wheels, and die-cast metal trucks.
The unpowered B unit has die-cast metal trucks, metal ladders, and metal wheels. The unpowered A unit has these features plus carries diesel RailSounds with volume control.
